  • avoid sunburns, exposing the area to the sun for long periods of time. Cuts or recent scars in the area we will be tattooing will result in rescheduling and possibly losing deposit if you didn’t provide enough of a notice.

  • Exfoliate the area a month leading up to the appointment

  • moisturize the area regularly during the week leading up to the appointment and drink plenty of water.

  • Get plenty of sleep (don’t drink alcohol the night before)

  • Lay off the caffeine the day of the tattoo. Caffeine increases your heart rate and, thus, increases your blood flow. This can cause you to feel sudden rushes and crashes of energy, which can leave you unsettled and shaky.

  • Eat a big protein dense meal before coming in. Vitamin C is also recommended.

  • Bring water and sugary drink if you’d like along with any snacks. I usually keep granola bars (Kind and Lara bars) just in case

  • Wear the appropriate clothing for the area we will be working on. If we are working on your bicep/deltoid, a tank top or cutoff sleeves would be best.

  • You could also bring a small blanket just in case. Some people get cold sitting still for long periods of time

  • Only 1 extra person is allowed in the room while work is taking place. No children please

  • I don’t normally like when clients use numbing cream as it tends to make the skin rubbery and difficult to work on. If it’s going to make it difficult to work on, it’s going to take longer to complete. I am also uncertain if the tattoo healing is affected by the numbing agent. If you are dead set on using it please contact me first so we can discuss it.

  • If you scheduled a full day with me, come mentally prepared to sit for a long period of time.
